St Patricks Day Banners
The luck of the Irish! This day is celebrated in honour of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, marking his passing on 17th March 461 A.D. St Patrick’s Day has been observed as a religious holiday for over 1000 years. Families would traditionally attend church in the morning, celebrating in the afternoon with drinks, a special meal of corned beef and cabbage, dressing up in green, wearing lots of accessories that associate with St Patrick and most of all, dancing to Irish folk music!
Fun Fact: Chicago USA have a tradition relating to St Patrick’s Day. Every year since 1962 they turn the Chicago River green! One year they released 100 pounds of green vegetable dye into the river to make it green for a whole week! Today, they only put enough dye in to keep it green for several hours (40 pounds) to minimize environmental damage.
Here at The Banner Hub, we love working on big projects creating eye-catching, eco-friendly banners for occasions and events such as this. Maybe you are organising events for St Patrick Day at your pub, club, community centre or school? What better way to spread the word than using one of our banners!
You could even purchase our fabulous ‘Road Closed’ signs if you are having a parade or event which impacts on the roads. Let us know what you need for your St Patrick’s Day celebration – we can create any banner of any size.
